Resonance‐Based Directional Light Emission from Organic Light‐Emitting Diodes: Comparing Integrated Nanopatterns and Color Conversion Waveguide Gratings

Organic Light-Emitting Diodes light-emitting diodes (OLEDS) with directional surface emission are promising candidates for applications such as miniaturized optical sensor systems and digital signage. As described in article number 2200143 by Janek Buhl, Martina Gerken, colleagues, tailoring characteristics resonance effects can improve light utilization overall efficiency. The image shows a blue excitation OLED illuminating thin color conversion waveguide grating providing narrow-angle orange from the device surface.
